We are dedicated to not only developing musical ability in children but also educating and empowering families. Our institute stands on four foundational pillars: Instructional excellence, Empowering parents, financial literacy and college scholarship, and building community.
We offer free beginner group lessons and parent classes to expose children and parents to the world of possibilities in music.
Instructional Excellence
Our dedicated teachers are committed to providing unparalleled instruction using the renowned Suzuki Method. With ongoing training, collaboration, and a love for teaching, we ensure that every child receives the best musical education possible because Every Child Can!
Educating and Empowering Parents
We believe that parents play a crucial role in their child’s musical journey. That’s why we offer continuous resources, and workshops to empower parents every step of the way – from infancy to college – fostering a strong partnership between home and institute.
Pathway: Youth Development and Employment
As part of our pre-college program, students who reach a certain level of skill are offered opportunities to work as teacher assistants and administrative staff. These roles allow them to gain practical experience while earning income to support their college goals. Through this program, students develop important skills like leadership, communication, and organization, preparing them for college and beyond. This employment pathway is a core element of HPSI’s commitment to helping students succeed both in music and in life.
Building Community
HPSI strives to create a sense of community among students, families, and the broader public, promoting cultural enrichment and social responsibility.
Group lessons, parent involvement, and community concerts are integral to the Suzuki method. These activities help build a supportive network among families.
The Hyde Park Suzuki Institute was founded in 1998 to bring the joy of music and the expression of its richness to children through the teaching methods of those who have proven through experience and research the exceptional learning ability of the young child. Since then, the Institute has earned a reputation for excellence in teaching young children.
